Julie Hyndman is an Author, Artist and a Fashion Upcycler.
Julie’s writing career started writing more than 18 years, and appears in a wide variety of publications in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, as well as the International Poetry Anthology and an anthology with the Fellowship of Australian Writers Queensland.
Her first book was published in 2015; ‘Pushing Shadows’ is collection of poetry, about life, loss and love. She is working on another book about her experiences as a FIFO (fly in fly out) wife.
Julie writes a regular column What’s on Your Bedside Table for the Victorian publication Positive Words.
Julie appeared at the Brisbane Writers Festival 2015.
She is also a founding member and President of the Wild Women Writers group, which she runs on the Sunshine Coast.
Julie is also an Artist, working in Pastel; her original artwork appears on the front cover of her book, in a local gallery and private homes.
Her creative mind also extends to clothes design- her passion is to upcycle items by adding a creative flair to ordinary pieces, making them unique and unusual.
She runs two blog pages;
