Appearing at SCIRW (Sunshine Coast International Readers and Writers) Festival 2016

Not long to go now, this Saturday in fact, I’m running a workshop on poetry, appearing on a panel discussion about creativity and writing and presenting at the Poets Night.

I’m so excited to have this opportunity;  others having faith in you and loving your work.

It’s nervous wracking for sure, but nothing I can’t do- I can talk about writing til the cows come home (who says that 🙂 ).

I am what I am, I do what I do, and that is all I can do.

I love what I do- playing with words,

moving them around,

feeling the weight shifts within a sentence,

oooo love that!!

Find the unexpected

when poking around in a Thesaurus for the ‘perfect’ word,

can send you off on a  tangent,

down alleyways you didn’t even know existed,

find links to surprising places,

magic-making metaphors

and languishing analogies.

Anyway,

see, off on a tangent, without even trying!

Check the Facebook page for links to the festival- see you there, come say hello :))
